That's a Wrap!

WoodScapes Nation has just wrapped up its first gallery exhibition.

The Grand Mesa Arts and Events Center, GMAEC, in Cedaredge Colorado was the host.

Housed in what was originally a theater built in 1906, the "Center" has beautifully renovated the structure keeping true to the building's original charm. The gallery area is housed in the old theater lobby and was perfect for displaying our work. We had approximately 40 pieces placed on pedestals throughout the space and a local photographer displaying his art on the walls.

The opening night reception was very well attended with the Center providing food and beverages. We were able to mingle with the patrons, answer lots of questions about our work and also explain the process of what we do, burl to bowl. In the end, we found forever homes for several of our heirloom pieces.

On weekends the Center also hosts concerts in the renovated theater. An intimate space, it seats 170 people and has state-of-the-art acoustic treatment and electronics. A perfect companion to the gallery.

All in all, a very well-received and successful show. The staff and volunteers were great and we made lots of new friends. We can't wait to go back there. Please stop in if you're in the neighborhood or visit their website: www.gmaec.org
